Insider Tips:
- Best time to go for low crowds is Tuesdays-Thursdays, spring (except spring break time) and fall (except mid-October gets busier), and winter months. Summers are very hot and very crowded and holidays are very crowded. Check this website to see if the dates you’re planning to go are anticipated to be crowded or now.
- If you will be going during a busy time, consider buying the Express Ticket (in advance). With this ticket you can get in the short line for all the rides, shows, and the backlot tour ‘one’ time each.
- Consider buying the buy 1 day get a 2nd day free ticket if it’s on sale when you go - this will guarantee that you get to see and ride everything you want to while it’s crowded
- Consider buying the VIP Tour pass for a very personalized and private experience. With the VIP tickets you get free valet parking, free continental breakfast, free lunch, and unlimited express tickets. Rather than just getting in the short line one time per ride you can get in the short line over and over - an unlimited number of times. When you do the backlot tour you can get off the bus and walk around, take photos, etc. with your private guide. When you consider everything that’s included with the VIP Tour, it’s a great deal!
- Go to the park early - at least 30 minutes early, so you can get on the rides while the lines are short. You’ll be amazed at how many more rides you can get on,
- Buy your tickets in advance - don’t waste time buying tickets the day you go
- Remember that rides run consistently, but shows are only at certain times. If there are shows you don’t want to miss, plan your show schedule and then plan the rides around that
- If you’re there on a very hot day, do the studio tour and backlot tours in the afternoon. You can get off your feet and cool down a little bit.
- Are you celebrating a birthday - stop by any of the stores and ask for their free birthday button
- Most of the rides at Universal are not geared for small children. Read the height requirements below to see how many rides your kids can actually go on before purchasing tickets to the park.
